Update: Oct. 26th - Tumacacori Century: Penny and her out-of-town family woke up with me at 6am to drop
me off at the start, thanks for the getting up early, then went to Annie's Orchard and Tombstone for the day while I rode. I
got caught-up in the excitement of having someone to draft behind and burned myself out very quickly. The guys from
Team Tolero were there as well and said "hi" as they streamed past--still no chance for me to stay on their wheel!
I soon realized that my pre-race dinner of Brats, beer and sauerkraut was probably not the best choice.... A flat tire
sidelined me for a while as most of the remaining past me by. I biked the last 20 or so miles alone until I was passed
by a band of misfit riders, sporting 20 year-old bikes, and wearing Chuck Taylor basketball shoes. I drafted behind
them for a mile or so--feeling so bad about being so near the back, that I passed them and finished ahead of them. I
know it's not a race--but I had to have some self-respect!!! Actual miles 100.
